GBOLUWAGA MULTIPURPOSE AND INVESTMENT LIMITED (RC number 8585209) is a members' savings and loan society registered in Nigeria. Our registered address is 3, Unity Close, Laketu, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. You can reach us by email at kunle@gboluwaga.com. We act as the data controller for your personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
We operate an informational website and a member-facing WhatsApp service. Membership is arranged with us in person, so your details come to us directly when you join and never through this website.
Personal data we hold
We hold only the following personal data:
- Your first name, last name, phone number, optional email address, branch, and membership status.
- A 10-digit virtual bank account number issued to you by our payment provider.
- Your savings, loan, repayment, and interest records.
- WhatsApp message records: the message identifier, your phone number, the content of messages you send to us, and message delivery status.
- Signed webhook payloads from our payment provider describing your deposits.
Personal data we do not hold
We do not collect or hold your BVN, NIN, home address, date of birth, payment card details, location data, or biometrics.
How we use your data, and who receives it
We use your data to manage your savings, issue low-interest loans, reconcile payments, and send financial updates to your phone.
We share data with specific providers to run this service:
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform): carries WhatsApp messages sent between you and our society.
- Paystack: processes your bank deposits and issues your 10-digit virtual bank account number.
- Hosting provider: our servers run in Germany. We transfer your data outside Nigeria to this host in accordance with the cross-border transfer provisions of the NDPA.
We never sell your data. We never use your data for advertising. We do not use your data for automated decision-making.
Retention and deletion
We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission's General Application and Implementation Directive 2025 (GAID).
Under Section 24(1)(d) of the Act, we keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose we collected it. Where Nigerian accounting, tax, and anti-money-laundering law obliges us to keep financial records for a set period, we keep them for that period and no longer. Once a record is no longer needed, we destroy it or strip it of everything that identifies you.
Your contact details can be corrected at any time, and are erased once your membership has ended and nothing is outstanding between us.
How to request deletion of your data
- Email our management at kunle@gboluwaga.com, or deliver a written request to 3, Unity Close, Laketu, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
- Provide your full name, registered phone number, and branch name.
- State clearly that you wish to request data deletion.
What will be deleted: the records that identify you — your name, your phone number, your email address, and your virtual account number.
What will be kept: the financial record of your savings, loans, repayments, and interest, for as long as Nigerian law requires us to keep it, and in a form that no longer identifies you.
We will acknowledge your request, and tell you what we removed, what we have to keep, and why.
Your rights and complaints
Under the NDPA, you have rights regarding your personal data. These include the right to access your data, rectify incorrect data, restrict processing, object to processing, request data portability, and request erasure where applicable by law.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, contact us first at kunle@gboluwaga.com or at our registered address. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
